Another strong argument is how satellites help with weather forecasting. Around 90% of weather data comes from satellites, helping predict storms and natural disasters. Without this data, millions of lives would be at risk. For example, accurate satellite data can give early warnings about cyclones, saving both lives and property.

Oman has recognized the importance of space technology and, in 2018, signed an agreement to launch its first satellite, "OmanSat-1." This satellite aims to improve communication services in Oman, showing the country’s investment in modern technology. Oman is also building a center in Muscat to process and interpret satellite images. This center is part of the Vision 2040 plan.

However, opponents argue that satellites create space rubbish, which is a growing problem. More than 36,000 pieces of rubbish larger than 10 cm orbit the Earth. If we don’t manage this issue, space missions and active satellites could be at risk.

In conclusion, while there are challenges, the benefits of satellites in communication, weather forecasting, and scientific research far outweigh the negatives.
