Past Simple
We use Past Simple for actions that happened in the past with a specific time.
Examples:
- I played football yesterday.
- I went to Suhar last weekend.
- She broke the window three hours ago.
Present Perfect
We use Present Perfect for actions in the past with no specific time.
Form:
Have / Has + Past Participle
- I have eaten my breakfast.
- I have gone to Suhar.
- They have broken the window.
Important Words
- Since → since 2023 / morning
- For → for 3 years / 7 days
- Just → I have just eaten
- Already → I have already eaten
- Yet → I haven’t eaten yet
- Still → I still haven’t done my homework
- Ever → Have you ever eaten sushi?
- Never → I have never eaten sushi
